Called the Burger Shack with the change in ownership. Relaxed, laid back beach vibe. Burgers were great. Stoner burger had everything on it and did not disappoint. The meat itself could use a little more seasoning but still worth the trip. Good fries.

We stopped here after doing the Black Dragon tour (which was a lot of fun) on a whim. On the surface, it looks like a pretty hole-in-the-wall place, and it is. They always say those can be the places that have the best food, and that's definitely the case here. The service was awesome, we sat in the little area that had AC, and ordered our food. My son insisted on getting the kid's burger which I was initially against, because sometimes those aren't enough food. I'm glad he did, in hindsight. There's no way he could have finished a full size burger. They have a few specialty burgers, I just ordered one of my go-to favorites as a build-your-own option - cheese burger with a fried egg and bacon. Everyone else got some version of a burger, including the yardbird chicken burger, and some milkshakes, which apparently they only do on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and then an order of onion rings. The food was so good! The burgers are definitely on the large side, and I say that in the best possible way. The meat was well seasoned, everything was just really good. Everybody was really impressed with the food. Even the onion rings were delicious! If you are in the area looking for a burger, DEFINITELY check it out. Don't let the appearances fool you, the food and the staff were all awesome!
Great burgers and chicken sandwiches in eclectic setting Limited menu, no frills. Local favorite- known for easy going way. 1/2 lb. Burgers are cooked fresh and not pressed - steamed ... so juicy. Place is definitely a hole in a wall- and old wood BUT it is a great place for lunch. Usually just a cook and waitress but great service. Be patient if you go with a crowd. They have patio seating - dog friendly. But they also have a small eat in area that is air conditioned with TV. Cash only but ATM on premises (May have to try a couple of times as it is an older model) no sweet and low but Splenda if that is important. Burgers are in 10 range but if you add bacon may pay a bit more. Fries with meal. Soft drinks and Tea - large glasses
I'll start with the bad so I can end on a positive note. When we walked in we stood around for a few minutes because nobody was around to tell us if we sit ourselves or wait, eventually I found someone and asked and we sat down. The words \beer garden\ are in the name. I expected more than a few domestic beers and a few Mexican beers...big let down. Water is only served bottled which was a little annoying and when our bottle came out it was splattered with what looked like salsa. The place is cash only and they do have a sign and an ATM, but it would be nice if the server told us just to make sure we can pay. The service was ok, not bad, but nothing spectacular. I could have done without her texting while I'm trying to pay. The good: The burger and fries were very good! I would get food from here again but only to go.
Wonderful place for those visiting Port Isabel or South Padre. It's right next door to the lighthouse, which at times has movie nights. The staff is very friendly, there's a spot for those who prefer the indoors like myself and an outdoor place to enjoy your email. It's also a very delicious burger. They also have a Vegetarian option!
