Wigg island is a hidden gem in a once industrial empire, with excellent dog walking tracks that wind through a truly unique wonderful shrub and woodlands, with the river Mersey on one side, and to make it a true island the man made water highway Manchester Ship Canal on the other, making it accessable by the unique swing bridge to some really good walking, rambling, dog walking, bird watching, wildlife and beautiful picnicking spots it's wheelchair friendly with good places to take a breath and break, the whole thing is perfect for any family. A truly good day out for all,oh and the views are fantastic.

This is a hidden gem in Runcorn, it's surprising how many people aren't aware of this place. It's great for photography, Pokemon GO (If you're into that!), dog walking, cycling, running.. the views are great especially in the summer months. Definitely my favourite place in the town.

A regular haunt for dog walkers and good for an hour or so stroll. Interesting to walk under the Mersey gateway and look across the reed beds spotting birds. Lose a couple of stars due to litter, the visitor centre now being abandoned and a little bit of disrepair.

Really good place to come for a walk or even some cycling/running. A nice walk along the canal path towards Warrington. Absolutely peaceful on a warm afternoon.

Great place for a stroll, good views over Merseyside estuary, free to park.
