The building itself is an architectural gem very little known to the general public or hoards of tourists, despite its relatively central location. The exhibits are great for anyone with an interest in history, especially the World War I and World War II sections. The museum is very Austrian-centric, and some exhibits are only explained in German language, which could be perceived as a minus by some visitors.

Nice museum with lot of stuff to see. Realy quiet if you go in the morning and with a unique items, armors, weapons, cannons, spears, vehicles, airplanes, helmets, guns. Everyone should go there if you visit Vienna.

Magnificent building with absolutely breathtaking interiors, sculptures and murals. Also very extensive and rich in its collection. Only the staff could be a bit more friendly, maybe that is to be connected to the fact that the museum is managed by the ministry of defense and not by the administration of austrian federal museums. Regardless, a matchless building.

One of the best military museums in the world. We can not recommend it enough. Stunning displays good signage and nice lighting. The WW1 exhibit was by far the best featuring the car the assassination of arch Duke Ferdinand and his wife even displaying the couch he passed on. FYI parking is right next to the main entrance by the cannons.

The collection inside the museum is quite varied and it will take up a few hours at a leisure pace. The building itself is gorgeous and the inside feels like a palace. You can see exhibits from both World Wars as well as more medieval stuff from the sieges of Vienna by the ottomans. There's a cafe at ground floor so you can always take a break.

I highly recommend this museum. Their exhibitions vary between the early years of the Austrian empire and the military of the state, up to date. Especially the WW1 and onwards wing and the 30 years war wing against the Ottoman Empire.
