My first time trying this place. It came with high recommendation and I would agree. Kathi was our server and she was FANTASTIC. There are a lot of locals that visit this place and you can understand why. Very welcoming environment. The drinks are a decent price, food a bit on the expensive side, but the service and atmosphere make up for it.

Traditional Viennese dishes for a decent price and good quality. Tasty beers for under 4 a pint. Its close to our home and we will be back.
Great wines from Austria, tried the whole card and paid 30 for 1.5L of wine. Even the house wines are really nice, no wonder this is a place frequented by all the locals. Quite authentic atmosphere, bar keeper knows what everyone drinks, people making loud jokes about each other All in all great!
Cheap and cheerful place, basically a pub, not a restaurant. Got a voucher from my hotel for a free meal hence ate here. Wouldn't go again.
It's a good indicator if there are not really tourists seen at a Viennese restaurant or pub. But I have to say it's meanwhile very difficult to find a nice restaurant with an original Viennese flair and reasonable prices — too many were closed during the last the decades. The Brandstetter is one of these old places and it is still open. It's located a little bit outside of the side, but it's directly reachable with the tramway no. 43 from the city. The interior design is a relic of the past, but that is the reason why this place is so special. And don't forget that you are at an original Viennese wine and beer pub, where usually only people are coming, who are really living there. So step in and don't expect a fancy place, but enjoy a wonderful Czech tap beer with a Wiener Schnitzel and potato salad. Or come after work and have one more glasses of wine and watch a soccer game. Enjoy!
