I have used Whitstones for both take away and sit down for many years now, despite the fact that they are 50 miles away! The fish is so tasty and the batter crunchy and golden. As with most chip shops the quantity of chips is too much, as least for me, but the few I do eat do go down rather well. I have tried other chippies closer to home but none compare.
