Car parking and accessibility is good, there is a cycle path that is the main path, but this gives way to muddy and slippy parts if you circle the pond and lots of goose plop. Plenty of bins for the dog walkers etc, it's nice in good weather etc..

Lovely place to walk and excellent place for dgo walks
This is purely for those who enjoy a good walk. There is a good car park by Ford Green Hall. The reserve stretches for about 1 mile and is about a third of a mile wide. The far end is flanked by Chatterley Whitfield mining museum. There are a good tarmac paths around most of the reserve and some rough paths as well. There is a large pond with numerous ducks and birds and also a fishing pond in the centre of the reserve. There are no amenities for food and drink.
Very nice place to sit down and to be alone with my own thoughts.
Beautiful place, Ford Green Nature Reserve sits in the middle and provides a habitat for many birds, animals and insects such as Grebe, a variety of ducks, heron, egret, dragonflies, damselflies and many more. The paths and greenways stretch to Whitfield Colliery and beyond and in the other direction to Holden Pools. There is a visitor centre at Ford Green and the Hall which offers various activities at weekends and holidays. Well worth a visit.
