Lovely staff very warm and friendly. Upstairs from the chippy. Prompt service. Covid safe. Lovely fish and chips with bread and butter less than a tenner the lot. Recommended by me! (I said I would!)

We usually go to the White Horse in Thirsk, even though it's a 40 minute drive from our house because there's no better fish & chip restaurant locally. On finding out that there was also a branch in Northallerton we decoded to try it out, it being only half the distance away. I'm happy to say that it was every bit as good. Cozy & welcoming, with great service and most importantly fantastic food. The queue stretching down the street for the takeaway should be testament enough to its quality and reputation.
Went into the restaurant and the fish and chips were really good. Would have given 5 stars except the new coffee they were trying out wasn't very nice.
The batter is like a cloth dripping with grease the chips were raw in the center but amazing service
