My dad and I took their class on making river tables. Was a great experience All materials that were needed were on-site and at great prices. They catered to our lack of knowledge and helped whenever we needed it! Tom and Russell's knowledge was second to none and they really cared about our projects as if they were their own! Will definitely be going back for another class!

I'll start with the members were great and they were knowledgeable and offered a lot of help if you had questions. On the other hand - the owners are not great. They care more about their own personal projects and their classes that make them money than the members who pay their bills each month. When I was there 3/4 of the members said they were looking for other spaces to work out of because of how they were treated. The owners will be nice to your face but then will talk bad about your projects to other members on the shop floor. They will also move your projects around at will (even if they are clamped and waiting to dry, out of the way). They will take no responsibility for something if it's damaged - if it interferes with their classes or you're not paying for storage, its got to go. They even started to block of certain rooms and rent it out when a month ago it was open to members to use as part of their monthly fee. I was forced to haul my wood around to avoid paying the outrageous cost for storage. They promote being an educational space that will teach you to build if you don't know how but the owners know less about woodworking than half the members do! You can learn more on 15 minutes of YouTube than you can trying to make something here. They sell you on all of the benefits and tools available to you to get you in the door but you find out really quick that its a lot of talk. The tools are broken constantly and there are a LOT of hidden costs that they tack onto your bill with no notice. I've been trying to reach out to them for months to talk about some of these mysterious charges but no response! There are other options for makerspaces that cost the same and offer more for your membership -- I suggest you check those out before heading here.

Theresa & Tom , the founders of White Bear Makerspace, were kind enough to share a file for a s hook designed to take the pressure of the ears for folks who had to wear face masks all day. We are a local laser engraving company and want to also help these efforts. Theresa and Tom embody what it means o give back! Thanks from Laser Custom Creations

A single day pass is all you need to realize this place is absolutely the best. They have all the tools and equipment I needed with ample workspace. The shop is organized and kept clean and you could tell that they take good care of their equipment. Tom was an amazing guy. You have a question about how to opperate the equiment, if they have a particular tool, or want some advise on your project, Tom's you guy. Super friendly and very helpful. If you have a bunch of cool projects you've always wanted to make, but just couldn't because you didnt have the equipment or space then I would highly recommend getting the day pass and giving this place a shot. White Bear Makerspace is a tangible asset to the community and something White Bear Lake should he proud of.
