Contact this shop wanting a one piece driveshaft built for my car. Owner said he could do it, So I purchased a oem shaft from a junk yard he recommended then took it to him for him to build a shaft from the oem shaft I provided. Before hand communication was good could get into contact with him 98% of the time, fast forward to when I received my one piece driveshaft and install in the car drove it around at low speed cruising/driving it was ok. Accelerating there was a whining from the rear diff, now me understanding angle might be different from before put the car on lift put the in drive and watched the drive line. While the car was on the lift notice the rear section of the driveshaft where it was welded is wobbling around indicating that the driveshaft was not welded straight. My original quoted price was 250 to build the shaft but when I went to pick it up I was told just to pay 195 which was an indication something was wrong. I'm a bit disappointed because he would have clearly seen the driveshaft was not straight when balancing it, now trying to contact him can't get no answer. I was recommended to another shop just be mindful there are better options, businesses need to open with customers.

I had a driveline vibration at any speed & it got worse at highway speed in a project car that i bought. I pulled the driveshaft out & brought it in to be checked only to find out that it was poorly welded & to short. Jason had a new drive shaft made to the correct length within 2 hours & I was back on the road vibration free. I have a Mercedes and EVERYONE gets scared and freaks out when you tell them its a Mercedes or just take the position that they can overcharge you for a simple part or repair (Stephens Automotive in Palatine). I needed just a simple axle boot replaced. Most places just told me, in fear, to call the dealer. Jason, I think thats his name, at Lake Cook CV didnt flinch and fixed it faster than it took me to drive to his shop and didnt gouge me just because it was a Benz. Fast and courteous service at the right price
My BMW 740i was vibrating at speeds 55 mph and higher. I came to Lake Cook CV shop and asked for advise. They suggested to bring my drive shaft for inspection. they inspected and fixed my old shaft while I was in their shop. Save me a lot of money and trouble. Good guys, customer friendly.
