I use to eat here on a regular basis, but since the manager left the food quality has declined -( I purchased fish n’ chips recently, sadly, the chips was soggy and the fish batty was oily and not crispy at all. For the first time I threw my meal away! Before, you could buy a take away and your food would be still fresh by the time you reached home! Such a shame.. they use to be one of the best fish n’ chips in the area...

I've been to Fish X Chips a few times. The fish is always prepared freshly and beautifully, but tonight I've decided to try the calamari for a change and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised how crunchy the batter was and yet the Calamari rings were very soft and tasty. Cooked to perfection!!! & I've just come back from a two week cruise around the Mediterranean where I have endless tries and none of them comes close to theirs... The pan fried fish was delicious too...
In comparison with other fish and chips establishments the food was nice and the portion size is large enough for two people. Of the five different fish on the menu only two were available. And the customer service was absolutely horrible the cook was extremely rude and impatient. He did not allow the staff to deal with the customer. I visited the restaurant in the afternoon and my husband went later in the evening and had a similar experience. I had to return for tartar sauce @ 2.50 because the staff didn’t offer it. I observed a couple having a better experience when I returned. The Acton town location is much better all around.
I ordered cod and chips through Uber Eats and it it was delicious. It was a decent size portion and the fish was edible (I’m very cautious about takeaways as I normally find them too greasy) but this was perfect. I couldn’t recommend them enough.
A very nicely decorated fish and chips restaurant and the dishes are freshly made, both fish and chips. Highly recommend the special grilled hadock with spinach and mushroom. Very easy to find and very modern and cosy atmosphere. Also it's not overpriced for the good location it has. They can also do takeaway or delivery, very busy but well organized.
