What a great idea. This is an empty shop unit in sovereign shopping centre Weston Super Mare. But instead of just leaving it empty it's got 4 or 5 ping pong tables in there. Just walk in, pick up a bat and play for free. Lots of people were having a go when we were there. I wish more places would be this inventive with empty shop units.
Good use of space and great that its free.
This was a brilliant idea, use an empty shop unit to advertise & get people involved in a sport (table tennis). Really engaged my 8 year old, wants to visit on every trip to town.
Where else can you play TT for free. Shame that some users abuse the facilities (damaged rackets, holes in the wall, TT tables have all been replaced due to damge). Great facility, let's look after it...otherwise it will be removed. Shame there is only 1 active TT club in WSM, nearest alternative decent club facilities are Portishead!
