Yesterday evening we had Sunday Dinners delivered \The Captains Cabin\ We were not disappointed It was excellent in all respects. The delivery was on time, the meal was well packed and hot. The food was up to the normal very high standard and a good portion. We had Roast Lamb, which was served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrots. Parsnip, broccoli, cauliflower and leek cheese and gravy. As a recommendation, all I can say is that next weeks Sunday dinner will be coming from \The Captains Cabin\ again Gill and Tom

Lovely little pub. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good layout for social distancing. Really lovely views if you sit outside on the balcony. Plenty of seating available inside as well. There is a bar outside if you don't want to walk all the way inside to get a drink. Food menu is limited, but good quality.

My first visit to the Captains cabin under the new management along with my friend. Firstly it was a visit two days before the November close down and was informed that a lot of items was not available due to not wasting stock. There was only five items off the menu so we had home made spicy pumpkin soup and freshly made scotch eggs. Delicious ! And the yoke was still soft in centre. Main course we went for the same though there was a good selection available and opted for traditional beer battered fresh chunky cod and chips. Very tasty and a winner for us both especially that we have several fish shops in our town. A well stocked bar and in normal times there would be more traditional beers available but just one and very nice . We will visit again after lockdown.

Fish and triple cooked chips with mushy peas sounds yummy, right! Yes! And that’s the reason why I choose this meal! I was looking for my triple cooked chips. And while fish and peas and salad were good chips were awful! Huge letdown Should not be even served. My friend ordered the same and shared my opinion. We have left most of the chips. I am disappointed ️
