Very cool museum full of tons of interesting items, great spot for kids and it was free. If you're nearby it's definitely worth it, they had decommissioned mini nukes and Napoleon's dueling pistols.

Everything you can think of war history and more. Many display cases of arms and military items from modern war fairs and before. Really you can touch history. The West Point wing is very inspiring, seeing all these young kids becoming professional soldiers... The history of this military institute is amazing! Definitely a place to spend if you want to soak history!

While traveling up US 87 North, we found that we were passing West Point. Having heard so much about it over the years we thought we'd stop and and a look see. Although we didn't actually get on the campus (it was graduation weekend) we were able to go into the Visitor's Center and Museum and what a great experience. The people were super nice and the price was right '0' for the Visitor's Center & Museum, there were bus tours available for a fee. It is a military museum and it had many usual and unusual displays of weaponry, historical tidbits and stories. Its roots go all the way back to 1802 which I thought was pretty amazing. We thought it was well worth the afternoon we spent there and we has the added bonus of the surrounding scenery as well. Attached are just a few of the photo's we captured. Enjoy.

Love this museum and always great to visit with my family. We learn a lot every time we visited and good for young kids to learn the history and understand.
