The Chicagoan

A terrible place, I acquired some ammo from this shop 3 times without complication or any supposed appointment upon the google advertised business hours of operation. My last visit was January 14 2021. The Rob guy who works the shop said they were undergoing ATF audits from the 15th until Monday and said to come back Monday, and that they would be done, audits do not sound like a good thing. I arrived Monday Rob said he was still not done with his audit so I say ok. Rob said to come back Tuesday so I did only to be met with lies and inconsiderateness. Here is why That Monday Rob had A guy whom was leaving his shop from picking up his purchase as I arrived. Rob had admitted to me that he should not have technically been there to pick up his purchase that day but was anyway. The Tuesday I arrived as per Rob saying to come back was a liar and rude, Rob had told me that he is in the shop by 11 am regardless of the google advertised hours of business; I arrived on my lunch break 12 noon time a mistake; I knocked on the door no one there. I waited 30 minutes in my car knocked again, no one there; this place is a hole in the wall so to speak no business signs and a hallway with another door inside from the outside door. I knocked again, at 1 pm the google advertised hours of operation, only to find some women who had pulled into the around the corner parking had gone in and was leaving as, I went and had knocked on the door again. Rob came out with the women, he tries to nonsense me saying oh by appointment only when the 3 prier times I had done business I had showed up as an essential walk in and door knock. I did have an appointment twice and he lied and said could you come back another hour from now after I had been already waiting for an hour and was to be expected as previously discussed. No one answers the phone or calls back or email replies

I initially went to purchase ammo and ended up discussing several different handguns with Rob who did a great job educating me . He very very friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back to do more business here.

Found a ddm4 pdw, the check out was easy, shipped within two days. They seem like a smaller staffed shop so you may have to call a couple times to get to someone but they are helpful and was able to check status of the shipping relatively easily. I just wish they would send out tracking when a weapon ships and maybe just call to make sure an item is in stock before going to purchase online. Would use them again but just remind you it will be a little slower than some of the bigger shops, but everyone is busy nowadays it seems.

I have worked with Rob many times over the years. I have never been disappointed. Which is why I keep going back to him again, and again, and again! I understand that in recent months conditions make sales volume very high. Which makes responses a little slower, understandably. So these negative reviews I read, I find surprising. People are so accustom to Amazon or Wal-Mart with a dedicated customer service department, not small business personal service. Rob will take his time with each customer, providing personalized attention. If you are with him at his desk, he will let the phone ring to give you, the customer in front of him, 100% of his undivided attention, which I for one greatly appreciate! All to often, people are quick to write a negative review but slow to post anything positive unless they are overwhelmingly blown out of the water. Rob is the best, he will make sure you have the right solution for what ever your application, with the personalized attention to each customer that I know will make you a repeat return customer, just as I am.
