THE NBS - Milwaukee rocks! I was skeptical about signing up for a \bartenders school\ after reading myriad bad reviews of a number of schools in Wisconsin, both in Milwaukee and Madison. This school is the real deal. I learned from an experienced bartender with 10 years of experience. That alone was worth the price of admission, but when she added her experience to hands on exercises in mixology, free pouring, bottle identity and history, everything just came to life. Our instructor, Emilee brought our class up to a working knowledge level of bar etiquette, mixology, legal and operational requirements. She added anecdotal knowledge at every step. I feel ready for my first real bartender's job! I have a great start toward being a real Sling King. Paul and Megan were invaluable answering questions, signing me up and getting me connected with the on-line aspect of the school. The on-line course was very complete and easy to follow with videos on all sections and most drinks. That followed by the hands-on learning in class was an outstanding combination! Don't think about this....just sign up. You will love it!!

NBS is the perfect place to start for anyone looking to get into the bar scene. I graduated from their program over 3 years ago in Los Angeles and it’s honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Learning all the cocktails can seem intimidating because there’s so many drinks out there and it can seem impossible to learn it all but just like with anything, all it takes is time and patience. You learn everything at your own pace and the staff is there every step of the way to help you learn recipes, bar etiquette, interview skills, resume optimization, and job placement! Even if you move to a different state, like when I moved to Wisconsin, they’ll still have your back and help you find work wherever you decide to go. You’ll graduate not only with a new skill set, but also a new found confidence to pursue this new path in your journey with a team that wants nothing but to see you succeed.

this place is amazing. I love everything about it. They really teach you everything you need to know right down to what garnish is needed for what particular drink. They are very caring and will listen to whatever you need or whatever questions you may have. They aren’t kidding when they say they will give you a job/job opportunities. They really do it!
