Me and my wife visited on Thursday for coffee and toasted teacake, the place was lovely and clean and the coffee was lovely. We waited forever for the teacake and it arrived after we had finished our coffee, unfortunately the teacake was inedible as it was soaked in butter which we tried to scrape off with a knife, but by then the butter had made the whole thing like mush so we got up and left it. We didn't have time to complain as we a had an appointment in town and were running tight on time. Maybe drop in for a coffee again but avoid the teacake.

Just found this lovely eatery in the high street. The staff are really friendly, nice warm welcome. Their menu is extensive from toastie to dinners.... daily specials, curry, burgers, pies and much more all home made. Tempting cakes and deserts, delicious coffees and teas. Alcoholic beverages are also available. All served to the table in cosy surroundings. The prices are very reasonable, an establishment that people will return to regularly when shopping in Sunderland. Today 6/3 /20 had a wonderful afternoon tea ... lovely selection of sandwiches, corned beef pie, quiche, cheese scones with pickles, fruit scone with fresh cream and jam, coffee and walnut cake and a slice of lemon cake . Needless to say we had to ask if we could take the cakes home . All beautiful home made food, served by extremely friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommend.
Brillant very friendly .on the ball as far as covid is concern but veery welcoming a must if your looking for a good cake or for a dinner xxx
