We stayed for 2 nights in late October. This place is not a place to relax or enjoy the calm country side. The interior is outdated and rooms are not very clean (dirty showers, hairy bedlinen, sticky tables, insects everywhere). Dead mosquito stains on the walls from previous guests. Our 1st night started in a mosquito war with a record of 21 kills!!! We got bitten all through the night and thought about leaving first thing in the morning but were offered a different cabin (no 14) so we stayed for the 2nd night (only 5kills) We moved further away from the water (stay away from no 23) but closer to the street which is loud and noisy from passing cars. Didn’t manage to do anything productive after sleepless night. No apology or anything from the owner for our horrible experience. Instead downplaying the situation and suggesting to use toxic mosquito spray in a closed tiny cabin. Food/breakfast is actually good (nothing extraordinary but overpriced) with low quality service. This place could do much better with professional staff and a little more care for service and it’s guests.

The best Hotel ever, I came with my husband for 2 nights and we had the best time here. Excellent rooms and food. For sure I will come back. I want to say THANK YOU to Ana for her excellent job.
Luxury without pretension. Delicious food, friendly reception and relaxed atmosphere in a very comfortable room in lovely rural setting.
We stayed in the outside pod-type room, which was incredible - the view of the countryside, and the sounds of nature was so relaxing! The rooms were really clean and spacious with Le Corbusier furniture, the beds were really comfy and the showers were hot and powerful - and we were just a short walk to the main hotel & restaurant. The family running the hotel were really friendly and helped us out with a guide of Leeuwarden and highlighted the 'must-see' spots. We rented electric bikes and took a short tour of the local villages, which was great fun and really easy to get around! The breakfast was delicious and the ambience of the dining hall was really calming, we stayed there for ages and really enjoyed the delicious local Frisian Suikerbrood (sugar bread). If we come back to the area, we would absolutely 100% stay here again!
Thank you for a fantastic and very positively surprising dinner! The combination of an excellent restaurant with the quiet and stylish tiny houses overlooking the green fields makes it the perfect, romantic hide away! We will be back!
