Prospective visitor: please go somewhere else... There are so many nice places around the Vecht river, waiting for you. Where to start .. we had the shared plate for two. The food was visibly, and confirmed by our tastebuds, of cheap origin, and it was presented like a DIY kit. There was 2 tiny slices of standard baguette (i was expecting something Greek here at least). Dzadziki was shockingly low quality. The price for all this was outrageous. Hot starters, same story. When I pointed out to the waiter I was less than fully satisfied, we got shrugging shoulders, nothing else. Hence this review. I am not of the ranting type, but this experience leaves me no other choice. Foreigners/tourists a pulled off by dutch culinary standards, and restaurants like this surely surely add to their perception.

Greek salad served with cabbage, paprika and 2 (two) olives. Just doesn't fly. Also no menu on English for some reason.

Good wine, and interesting twist on the spanakotiropita which had potato and buttery dough instead of filo. The moussaka was pretty good, too. However, the sampler dish we ordered had no vegetables in sight, nor seasoning, nor feta, nor lettuce, nor pita bread (the sampler advertised gyros). We simply received a huge pile of unseasoned grilled meat. Even the tzatziki was lacking cucumbers, dill, yogurt, etc. The only refreshing veggie was the forlorn slice of tomato served with the appetizer. If you want refreshing Mediterranean fare, you will only find meat here. It was rather disappointing, as all Greek places, even imitators, think to include at least juicy vegetables. Go for appetizers and the wine, but don't order an entree like a gyro and expect anything short of just the meat (sans oregano).

The best Greek food outside of Greece in the vicinity of Amsterdam. A cozy location right in the beautiful town of Weesp.
