Anyone who has to call Aftermath is already experiencing something traumatic, but the people I worked with, Kevin and Miranda in the DC area, were amazing. They explained the cost breakdown in detail and currently with COVID the costs are higher because the supplies cost more which is unfortunate but their work was amazing. They cleaned the room where my roommate had died starting the day they arrived. The room was cleaned in two days which was amazing. They also tried to work with my uncooperative landlord to use his home owner's insurance to cover the costs of the cleaning and although they were unsuccessful the effort was greatly appreciated. I hope to never have to use this company again but I know they are there if needed. Remember if you have to use a cleaning company like this the costs are not at all similar to a maid service because they are dealing bio-hazardous material disposal. The cost estimate was 5400-13200. The lower cost was for removal of soiled materials and cleaning of the room while the higher cost was for the same services with an odor remover to the room. Yes the cheaper one is nicer for your wallet but if you are going to continue to live in the place where a death occurred and there was an odor I highly recommend the full package (HOME OWNER'S INSURANCE COVERS IT). And they work with you to cover the costs if you do not use insurance.
