I placed my call, today @ 3:34 pm and hit 6 to speak to someone. I got right through. The woman on the other end, Listened to my issues, and resolved all my issues. She was both Pleasant and Professional. Idk if you will ever read this... Thank you again for all your help today...

I hate calling. Always takes long. Then they really don't listen when I tell them I have the number I need to call. I hang up because I get frustrated. They don't listen. Incompetent people working there. When I go in person, it's better despite the line. Depends on the day.

The entirety of RI's DHS system is understaffed, with prohibitive hours and dreadful call support. You're forced to take time out of work to visit an office simply because the phone wait times are impossible, and the hours they're open are incredibly limited. Furthermore, the employes are prone to misfiling and giving out inaccurate information and advice, which I imagine is worsened by the understaffing of these offices. I personally have been given inaccurate information about my benefits, which has had a grave effect on my finances and a serious emotional toll. I am grateful to the state for having services for people in need. However, the application of these services can be atrocious at times. It's not the same as getting a cold burger at a fast food joint - a bad experience with Human Services can be devastating. Even when things turn around and are solved, the stress caused is so awful... and since we don't have market power to demand better, we're stuck in this situation. It's incredibly frustrating!

Takes forever. When u finally get approved for benefits it takes months to go on. I was one day late to recertify they closed my account I re applied then they lost my application a month later I had to re apply all over again. Approved still didn't receive them. Sick of this place

This is a nice services for people who really needs public assistance. The rules should change now. People are abusing the system and we pay for it. Tired of that. You should implement that people who want freebies stuff needs to get drug screen every two week. I think your office should have a Lie Detector. Too many people making fraud to the system I know a few. Damn. You should be more strict. People are abusing the system
