I had never tried Olympic Weightlifting prior to joining Pride, 3 months on and I have found something I am passionate about and keen to progress in. I've always felt very welcome as part of the gym and the coaches are friendly, very encouraging and give great guidance in learning the sport. I've lost a stone so far and I have gained confidence in the gym. I highly recommend Pride Performance :)

Six and the sea

Pride Performance is one of a kind! Run by two approachable, knowledgeable and enthusiastic coaches - both of whom are qualified British Weightlifting instructors - it offers a friendly and relaxed environment to develop and succeed, regardless as to whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced lifter. Pride is small enough to have a deeply personal touch - Andy and Heather know you; they know what you are good at and what you need to do to develop further, but it is big enough to have quality kit and coaches with experience and knowledge, who are passionate about what they do. Even better, Pride is incredibly family friendly, offering classes for 'cubs' (ages 6-11) and a youth membership (ages 11-17, and incredible value at 15 per month for 3 semi-private coaching sessions a week). Children are also welcome in the gym when their parents are training, so childcare isn't prohibitive when it comes to attending classes and achieving your goals. All in, I couldn't recommend Pride highly enough. A wonderful community with something to offer everyone. Check it out!

Started with Pride last week on the 7 week Barbell Basics (highly recommend excellent value) I've trained in the past so I have a basic knowledge but the biggest difference being, the Pride community offers a smaller group session, this allows the coaches to be able to spend more quality time teaching excellent warm ups and technique giving you confidence and a commitment to progress as well as taking what you've learnt away with you. Looking forward to a fitter and stronger 2019
