Excellently laid out to cope with the Covid restrictions. Lots of space. No worries!

Total disregard for Health and Safety. Daughter fell down a large hole by the running track. Event First Aiders asked Centre Duty Manager for a wheelchair. 10 minutes later asked again. After 15 minutes one of them had to go and find another member of staff who brought a wheelchair that I guess they had salvaged from a skip. The wheels had already fallen off and there was a large gap between where they should be and the brakes. Duty Manager thought it was more important to check the toilets than provide First Aid, or maybe she was signing off her H&S check sheets as she claimed the large hole and missing paving slab weren't there earlier and must be the work of vandals. Duty Manager then decides that anything outside is not Centre responsibility. And anything and everything at an event is down to Event Organisers. So anyone thinking of booking this venue beware you will apparently be responsible for lack of general maintenance in the hire contract. If the roof falls in, then literally on your head be it.

I went to a sports event with my work so I didn't get to look all around the complex, but what I did see was great, the event is run every year for young people with special needs and they had a lovely time. I did see a fenced play park outside by the carpark and by the big sports hall there is an aerobics room, with toilets and an access ramp as well as stairs to get to it. However the cafe was up another flight of stairs but there might be another way of getting wheelchairs up but I didn't see one in that part of the building.
