I've been an avid user of Blake's Baits for quite a few years now. Always really friendly staff when I have visited. Really knowledgeable with the bait and products. And their prices are not to be argued with!! A friend and I used Blake's bait for our 1st trip to France a couple of years ago and on landing a 69lb common, 70lb mirror, 52lb mirror and a 33lb mirror, i never have to doubt the bait. I have just recently made my 1st online purchase with them too as I do not have the time to travel to the shop. The frozen/fresh bait arrived not only in a cardboard box, but inside a polystyrene box too. So much thought and care is put into Blake's customer and product care and I will be placing more online orders in the future. Highly recommend to anyone reading this review and wishing to use Blake's

What a disappointing visit at Blakes Pet Supplies today! I went to buy food for my dog. Situation is not easy at the moment and of course we cannot go inside to browse. I called the number as per instructions and asked for grain free dry dog food. I have been asked for a brand. Unfortunately brand I normally buy is only available at Pets at Home. So I said, please can I just have a bag of grain free dry food for dog. Lady in the shop asked how much grain free this has to be. I didn't know if she was joking or not, but I thought grain free means that there is no grain at all. Well I asked again, if she can just give me any grain free food for dog. Lady advised that it would be good if I would know the brand as otherwise she needs to go and read the label of every dog food they have in store. And she has no time for that. The thing with grain free dog food is that there is normally massive writing on the front of the bag saying: Grain Free or Free from Grain etc.. But I think she was just unwilling to help me. I thought being advertised as specialised Pet Supply Shop, you would get an advice or at least staff would know what they have in their stock. When I was working in hospitality I knew very well what wine and beer I had in my cellar or which dishes on the menu are gluten-free. I left the shop disappointed with no food for my dog. I would not recommend this shop for people who need an advice and instead go to Pets at Home, where people are passionate about pets.
