Unlike other supermarkets - my husband and I and couldn't go in together today. It was early evening and the store was not busy and only one of us could go in. The other had to stay outside which we weren't prepared for and therefore our shopping was very incomplete. More sensitivity could have been used. We felt at that time with no queues and low footfall it was not necessary. As a regular customer the score should have been 5 stars.

An excellent shop. They've handled the Covid lark very well. Throughout they've had someone on the door checking people in and out. Love the fish and meat counters - staffed by knowledgeable and helpful people. Just one gripe - the self-service tills are pretty rubbish.

What a terrible experience tonight - went to pick up a few bits for tea and paid at the self service tills. If you're not aware you have a choice as to whether you take a reciept or not and I never usually bother. Well tonight I paid for my shopping, went to buy some products from the kiosk where the lady behind the counter proceeds to ask me if I've got a receipt and if I've paid for my products? Wow there i am shopping bag full and the kiosk attendant asks me for proof of purchase and if I've paid. I responded that I didn't have a receipt and yes of course I've paid, please feel free to check your cameras - no need to do that is her response so I leave. This lady made me feel terrible so after a period of reflection I decided to go back to the shop to try and understand if this is the policy. The lady behind the kiosk is still there and she can't explain clearly enough so I ask to see a Manager, here comes Alan with a security guy in tow....wow this is just unbelievable im thinking as they both surround me while I ask the question. Alan response is not clear and I pose the question 'if I was an elderly gentleman would I have been asked to prove that I've just purchased these products? Yes we ask everyone Alan replies - well I know this isn't true because I spend a fortune in Waitrose and have never been asked before by anyone when I have my bags packed and I'm leaving. This experience has left me feeling frustrated and really let down by a business that I spend in excess of 15k a year in. Shame on you waitrose Godalming

Well done Waitrose Godalming for leading the way in how to treat non mask-wearing shoppers into your store. I was welcomed with a big smile and greeting when I entered the store this morning. I had my Hidden Disability Sunflower Lanyard and you treated me rightly so as an equally valued customer and did not question me which sadly has not been the case in other shops. Thank you Freya you are fantastic.
