If you want to see how level crossings were operated year's ago, this is an example. The crossing keeper operates the gates by hand and then shows a green flag to the train driver. This crossing features in several 'Midsummer Murders' and in the 2nd 'Grand Tour'
Wrinehill Crossing is a former halt on this old branchline. Railway preservationists have reopened part of the route but trains do not stop here to pick up or drop off passengers.
