While this is absolutely not ramen I’m giving them four stars because what they do offer is good and they shouldn’t be overlooked for what they do offer. They should either change the name of their restaurant to better reflect what they do offer or actually make traditional ramen like tonkastu. It may be difficult to change the name of their restaurant but making a true ramen is really labor intensive. So maybe that’s why they don’t. Since the closest authentic ramen shop according to Google Maps is Naruto in Aix-en-Provence, Wafu should consider making a legitimate ramen. It would be unique to the immediate area since there seems to be a fair amount of Japanese restaurants including sushi shops. Avignon deserves a true ramen shop not something masquerading as one. In the meantime, if you have the time and the ease of traveling to Aix-en-Provence, I highly recommend going to Naruto. Their ramen is excellent especially for ramen offered outside of Japan.

The soup offered was not ramen, it was very simple borth without umami. It looks exactly like ramen but tastes nothing like it. Personel was very friendly.

Very basic Ramen. Very little vegetables but what was in it was okay. Friendly service .

Four stars because the owner and/or waiter really cares that you enjoy your meal. I ordered the shrimp ramen. The tempura shrimp were hot, delicious, and well cooked. The broth was yummy. I did not like the ramen noodles. To me they tasted gummy, chewy in a bad way, and somehow they had absorbed no flavor of the broth. I think they do indeed buy the fresh noodles, but they need to work on their technique of cooking to have the right flavor and consistency. I have eaten other ramen places with homemade noodles and have really enjoyed them. This wasn't my first ramen place. When I told the waiter that I thought the noodles were undercooked, he offered to bring me a side bowl of more cooked noodles. I receive a mini bowl of shrimp ramen, the noodles were slightly more cooked but still with the gummy texture. When I paid I told this to the waiter and he listened attentively. He offered me a coffee for free. I see a new business still figuring things out and for that I gave 4-stars. But overall the ramen need works and because of this the price is too high.
