Exploring God's creation

We absolutely loved this place. Lots of great birding here! Indigo Bunting, Summer Tanager, Anhinga, Great Blue Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret, Red-headed woodpecker, Blue Grosbeak, White-eyed vireo, to name a few. Visitor center is closed right now, wished we could have seen that. Definitely worth the trip!

One of my favorite places in NC for birding and wildlife viewing. Many visits over multiple years. Lots of roads, ponds, fields, and trails for getting out in nature.

Let me start off by saying that the cell service was PHENOMENAL!!! Twice as good as what I get at home. Very beautiful and quiet place to visit. Great for a picnic, hiking, or just looking at nature. 10/10 would definitely recommend. Hiked roughly 5 miles when I went, but couldn't find the area where I was when I went with my cousin. Fun for anyone of any age. Safe and family friendly.
