If you have found Polzeath beach you’ve found the perfect beach to surf.... if you are a beginner or want to get better, you need coaching. Polzeath offers many surf schools, all will have merits but my experience of George’s Surf School was just one of excellence. From the booking procedure, the contact by email and phone to answer my questions and concerns, to the actual 2 lessons of 121 coaching every thing was perfect. They took a 62 year old man, no slim Jim and turned me into a surfer.... !! To quote Keanu Reeves in the film Point Break as he surfs his first wave.... “ I’m surfing..... “ And I did just that ! I can not recommend George’s Surf school highly enough, fantastic professionalism from start to finish. My thanks to Wendy, Jarad, Josh and George. Don’t miss out, I will certainly be back next year !!

My three children - girl (10) and boys (8 and 6) had an hour lesson each and absolutely loved it. After their initial water-side briefing they were in the sea and standing up on the boards straight away. The coaches were very enthusiastic and provided the right mix of encouragement and challenge while at the same time ensuring that none of the children became uncomfortable or worried about being amongst the waves. One hour was enough time for them to get into it and have a good go, but they could easily have spent another hour learning and practicing more. We'll be booking multiple lessons next summer. Good luck with the rest of the season!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend George's Surf School. My friend and I had 1-2-2 coaching for 4 hours over the weekend with Jared and it was brilliant. Jared was patient and keen for us to progress while making the learning experience fun. We learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. The communication and booking beforehand was all so easy and efficient. Keen to return next year!
George's Surf School is the best school to bring up your surf to the next level. My girlfriend and I had 3 days of private lessons with Abbey and Andy, which we enjoyed every single minute. Next to the great lessons in the water, they also took their time to make us understand the surf conditions. Additionally, we also looked at possibilities to bring our surf fitness to the next level.
I've been meaning to write a review since last September. We had a joint 3-hr lesson from Lucy who was so brilliant. I was pretty bad but both my partner and I managed to stand up. Really good day. Would definitely recommend.
