I was so excited to get an L&L in Waco; never would have thought that would happen!! I have been going since my mom was first stationed in Hawaii over 20 years ago and have tried chains in different states/cities. Overall, the one in Waco is good but not as good as others I’ve been to. The macaroni salad isn’t really good (but better than the first week they opened); not sure what’s off but even at the Houston location, it’s just much better and has more flavor. The rice is usually just a bit off in texture, not sure why. Overall, I enjoy it and have eaten there several times. I’m comparing it to other locations naturally but I think overall it’s really great for Waco and recommend you go!

This particular franchise is owned by two veterans. So I wanted to support a local business specially for those who served. The food was great. The garlic shrimp is amazing with the steam rice. The Kathy chicken is moist and has a crispy breading. Definitely coming back.

First time eating Hawaiian BBQ and I have to admit I am thoroughly impressed. I had the BBQ mix and my wife had the shrimp salad. The mix had more meat than I expected. My favorite was the chicken. The shrimp was crunchy and full of new flavors. I will definitive recommend this place to anyone, and I will stop by next time I am in town.
This was my first but definitely not my last visit!! We absolutely loved the food and the portions were quite generous. We had the Katsu chicken and the seafood and barbecue mix. The shrimp was crunchy and light, the barbecue chicken melted in your mouth and the Katsu chicken was fantastic! Also got to meet the owners both are veterans and over the top friendly.
3.5 out of 5 is my rating. I would have rated much higher, as the food that my fiance and I got was amazing and given out in very wonderful portions. The drop in the rating is because of the 3 following things... 1- It is very loud in the place, and therefore it was hard to order our food without having to almost yell. 2- The seating was very, Very uncomfortable. 3- The sides are very under-seasoned, and could use some work. As they are now, it is almost like they don't want people to order them at all.
Excellent place to eat BBQ Hawaiian style....dont be afraid to try to Seaweed wrapped Teriyaki flavored spam and rice cake.....its just like being on the Island
