Our office is near the VM so we took a chance on having our team Christmas lunch here. It was incredibly cheap and my expectations were not very high, but I was very pleased with the meal, and the staff were friendly and attentive too. We ordered in advance and I skipped the starter, but those who ordered one were happy with theirs. I had the traditional turkey main. The meat and stuffing were very nice but the thing I was most impressed with was the quality and quantity of the vegetables. They were cooked well, hot all the way through but not overdone and there were LOADS of them, including the roast potatoes. I was glad I skipped the starter by this point, because even the Brussels were crisp and delicious (I'm a proper Goldilocks with most things brassica). I had the gluten free lemon tart for pud, which was offered with a lemon sorbet - I don't quite get the cold lemony accompaniment to a cold lemony dessert and would have preferred cream, so I skipped the sorbet too. The tart was quite nice too. Two courses set me back 12.95 - 3 would have cost 14.95, which is excellent value for a Christmas meal. Service was quick and the staff were lovely. Couldn't fault it really. The only reason I didn't give 5* is the limited choice of veggie options, which is hard on a limited prix-fixe menu, but could have been a choice of 2 rather than a single option.
