Vision Express Opticians at Tesco - Maldon, Essex

The eye health exam and seeing the optician was as I had expected. The glasses consultation straight after seemed a pleasent experience and I left looking forward to my glasses arriving. When I tried them on - I was shocked at how little of the actual glass was of any use at all! I was then told by more than one member of staff that it was in fact me that had to accept that the only part of the prescription was a few millimeters top and bottom and i should get used to tillting my head to look through the top for distance and read anything just below my chin....! It was repeated in simpleton terms that the lense was graduated etc - I understood that the first 3 times I was told - but my point to them was that unless rest of the glass was the same and not graduated then it was of no use - hense needing the prescription part in the first place!!!! In short what I was led to believe would be achieved is not possible. Others that are not so confident are obviously told that their misgivings and issues are infact theirs...I went in to improve potentially on my readers. The 210 bill for less effective glasses didn't represent good value (although I was offered an option of paying considerably more to subtly improve the feild of vision) no thanks! I left wondering just how many people have put up with or consigned their expensive glasses to the cupboard and continue with other options simple because they felt more uncomfortable complaining face to face with the 'experts' that are telling you that its you (the paying customer!,) that is mistaken!!!
