We love eating out. Last night we visited this fine restaurant which friends recommended to us. We had a lovely experience there with exceptional meal and an experienced stuff and a distinguished cook. We added this restaurant in our list and we will no doubt come back very soon. We warmly recommend.

Another great google find for “BBQ”. Staff super friendly and Atmosphere very nice. Tables were nice with big red napkins, more like wash clothes. The men’s restrooms as cool as it looked like beer kegs as urinals. I had the half chicken and brisket with side salad. I can’t have the sauce any any longer which I’m not happy about. The half chicken was super moist and delicious. The brisket needs sauce so not as enjoyable but no issue if you can have the sauce. I got a small sample of the moist pulled pork with Vinegar overtones. Over all, I highly suggest if you are in the area, Virgil’s Real BBQ shouldn’t disappoint you.

*Best Smoked BBQ in NYC* I'm not saying this as an exaggeration. I make it a point to try BBQ from any place in NYC as possible and since my 13th bay party (I'm 33 now) this has consistently been incredible and AFFORDABLE food, especially for its location so close to times Square. Get the wings and honey butter biscuits.

I sent my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I go their often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The dishes they serve are tasty and the stuff is very friendly and cooperative. Every time we eat in this place we enjoy a pleasing evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

Retroactive to April 2018: All things considered, Virgil's was better than I anticipated. Given the location, I expected a crowded, overpriced, touristy spot. All those are true, BUT the food exceeded my expectations. Nachos were pretty good. Nothing worse than nachos with liquidy nacho cheese, so melted cheese was enjoyable. Got the pick 2 combo to split with someone. Pulled chicken, Memphis spare ribs, collard greens, cheesy grits. Loved the ribs. Liked the chicken. I know there's better BBQ in NYC but I entered with tempered expectations and left satisfied. Service was weak though. Took a LONG time to get drinks, and tracking down our server became an unfortunate theme. I'd go 2.5 stars if I could, but 3 it is.
