I went here a couple years ago and I can't remember what I bought, however I did buy a few treats. Chances are they were a cupcake, brownie and something savory. Now, I'd decided to visit this bakery because of their recent rise to fame with the royal cake. So, you can imagine my excitement coming all the way from a different country to taste some of their treats. And you know what, all I can remember now is that everything was just plain tasting. There was nothing outstanding about any of them. And that was utterly disappointing. Inspite of that, I do admire the way their cakes are decorated. They're such beauties. Ethereal in a sense. When I do visit London again, I'll give the bakery another chance. Maybe I'll like it better this time around?

Ordered the chocolate salted caramel cake for my partners birthday. It was the cake to end all cakes! I’ve had hyped cakes before and left feeling underwhelmed, but this was top quality and faultless
What a cake! My husband ordered this for my birthday, it's the best lemon cake I've ever eaten and looks stunning with real flowers to decorate. I don't want it to be finished! Thanks so much to the team for making it for us ️. We'll be back for more.
A little pricey but the best baking you can find in East London. Really friendly staff, great coffee and after the renovation an overall classy place. Give the cinnamon swirls a go, they'll blow your socks off!
If you are in London and need a cake I wouldn't recommend any other place but Violet Cakes!! The staff prepared my sons birthday cake on short notice (they didn't have to do this). I am from the states and my son lives in London but I was Determined to try Violet and I am sooooo glad I did. We had the chocolate Salted Caramel cake which was nothing less than amazing... excellent customer service, prompt email responses and if you have any issues or complaints they are on it!!!! It was well worth the 30minute trip to pick up the cake from where my son lives and I'll be doing it again :)
