The cheese here is something to try. We have already listed rösti and fondue to try for next visit. Loved it. The price honestly don’t do justice to the food served. It’s cheap for the good food provided.

Excellent food and wine
Had some filet de perches Villeneuvoise. Disappointed as the meunière plate looked bigger, better served and with some lemon too. The Villeneuve style was some filet in a kind of butter with some herbs (tasted a bit like garlic and parsley butter with little taste) and 5 small water boiled potatoes. Taste of all was disappointing and was still hungry after. And overpriced as this was charged 32.- CHF. Meunière was at 30.- that day for 200gr (or what they say) of filet. So go for meunière or just go somewhere else with better prices and taste.
Un bon bistrot traditionnel. Excellente ambiance amicale. Une très bonne fondue. Le vin de Villeneuve et d'Yvorne très bons. Service très attentif et agréable. Un plaisir simple mais appréciable

Das heutige Mittagessen im Étoile war leider eine herbe Enttäuschung. Die bestellten Teller mit Egli-Filet waren richtigehend nicht geniessbar, sie hatten einen schlechten Geschmack. Die dazugehörende Sauce wurde erst ganz am Schluss an den Tisch geliefert. Schade, ich hatte da Étoile in guter Erinnerung. So minderwertige, schlechte Egli-Filet habe ich eigentlich noch nie erhalten und ich bin immerhin 75.
La cuisine est bonne, les filets de perches excellent, le service est un peu moyen.
