Morning/Lunch crew has always been amazing! But our experience last night made me decide to never come here in the evenings. We came in about 645, they close at 8. So we thought we came in a good time to eat and be out of their hair. It was me, my husband and our three boys ( 8 5 and 2 ) there was on two other tables in there besides us. We didn't see waitress for about 10 minutes when she finally arrived to get our drink order. Another 10 minutes or so went by and she brought the drinks. She brought me the wrong drink, so I asked for the correct one. She apologized, got our food order and said she would be right back with my correct drink. 45 minutes later...we hadn't seen the waitress since taking our order, I was never brought my drink, no food. I don't mind to wait for good food, but no one ever came to check on us, and the table across from us came in at the same time and they also had no food and all four of their drinks were empty sitting at the end of the table. They had not seen the waitress for this time frame either. My kids were obviously impatient and with no staff in the front of the house to speak to, we did something we had never done before...we talked out...ended up going to El Maya in Marionville who had us fed and on our way in 45 minutes. This was so disappointing. I don't consider myself a Karen but this situation turned me into one for at least a hour

Better than getting my server was fantastic. I was definitely disappointed in my food. I've been coming off and on to Village Inn over the last six or seven years. Definitely less over the last couple years. Prices increased and quality decreased. Definitely disappointing. Ordered a dinner size Cobb salad because I can usually only eat about half was going to take the other half home to eat later. I got a salad that was smaller than the lunch size I usually get. Paid over 10 for a medium sized salad. When I used to get the salads here they were completely piled high and rounded over. So much that I would usually have to get an extra plate and scoop some of it off in order to mix it in my dressing and start eating. My salad was about an inch and a half thick. Definitely disappointed. I left the server know that I had never had a salad that small, especially for a dinner sized salad. The server informed me that the manager made it to specifications. Looks like specifications need to be changed. I'm not saying the salad didn't look good. It looks fantastic. But it was definitely closer to half the size that I usually get. Not worth 10.
Casey our server is amazing. I had a grilled cheese that was delicious with tomato basil soup. Breakfast is really good too. Also.bought a key lime pie there for 12.99 haven't tied their pies but if it's as good as their other items im.sure I'll love it.
