Very decent sushi, although some of them are a bit unusual and could be disconcerting to some people (lime, green apple). Their specialty (compared to the sister restaurant next to the chateau de Versailles) are the ramen, and I found them quite tasty - at least the pork belly chicken miso soup combination that I usually get. The two Kampai restaurants are my go-to option for to go food!

Excellent venue and decorations in the restaurant. Location is in center of Versailles, easily located and accessible. There are 2 storeys available, spacious and suitable for solo to group. Menu is clear with English translation, there are also set menu with reasonable price for big eaters or group. They serve Japanese beer and is a plus point, but have to be conscious of the temperature to serve- it has to be really chilled. Food quality is fresh and undeniably great. The edamame is warm and lightly salted as it should be. The chicken karaage is tender and fried to the right doness. Mixed Chirashi is served with fresh sashimi, it is incredible. The miso soup ramen with pork cha shu is slightly disappointing- the soup base can be simmered longer to enhance its flavour and serve piping hot. The ramen used seems to be of instant grade and less springy. However, it is worth to mention that all the other ingredients used are fresh and can make an even better ramen if were cooked properly. Overall, it is a nice place to dine at. Tapas and sashimi dishes are our recommendation.
We had a very nice meal in this new Kampai. Two servings of ramen, quite tasty, one with miso soup and another with soja broth, plus a set of tapas as entry. It was about time there was a Japanese restaurant serving ramen in Versailles! The establishment is also very nice and the staff friendly and welcoming. I recommend this restaurant, it has been quite the discovery!
Excellent japanese restaurant around the market place of Versailles
Nice service but I was sincerely disapointed with their ramens. Porks was not cooked enough and eggs were not marinated and far overcooked. Nothing like the picture ... Guys you should revisit your recipe and brief the chef. It is not hard at all to make it right.
When it's time for sushi, unagi rolls or ramen, there is only one place you should remember in Versailles -\u003e Kampai! It's the fourth time and the quality of the food is high, the delicate precision of the sushi, rolls, you won't find a bad rolled roll here. It genuily feels japanese and it definately tastes like japanese food. The Ramens are all delicious, the starters excellent and you will find some good Sake and Whiskey. Last but not least, the staff is very friendly and the service, even when they are fully booked, is quick (nod of appreciation to the kitchen staff) Try them out!
Excellent! Delicious japanese food. Highly recommended. A must in Versailles.
Good japanese restaurant. They have a creative menu but they stay in the japanese theme and they don't have eccentric combinations of ingredients. They have two restaurants in Versailles so if they're no seat left you can try to book to the other one, it is close enough. Seatings in the restaurant is nothing special but there's outside seating.
