Amazing!! The best surf camp for kids hands down! The crew is tops. Extremely well run, the kids surf a ton and everyone has fun!!
My tween sons went to this camp last summer. It was their first time surfing and they both LOVED it. Could not get enough. One of my sons is autistic and I was concerned that he would struggle with transitioning in or out of the water, or that he might have meltdowns that they wouldn't be able to handle, or that he would disregard safety and go too far out in the ocean...the lead instructor assured me they would let him go at his own pace and keep an eye on him, and every day they would update me on how he did. He never had a meltdown. They both had a blast. We're definitely signing up again this summer.
My son has done surf camp here (including winter break, back when it was offered) for the last 7 years. He is now 14 and a good surfer. I don’t worry about him in the water at all with the staff here. All are certified lifeguards. He can’t wait to go back next summer.
My kids have attended Ventura Makos Surf Camp for many years, since they were little, and continue to enjoy it into their teen years. They do a great job with surf camps and solo lessons too.
