Excellent experience! My wife and I were planning on going to a mask making class while in Venice. Initially we had planned to go to another (well-known) mask-maker but that other company was VERY rude and unaccommodating; they wanted 2 people and 1 mask?! We went to Sogno Veneziano Atelier and we had a FANTASTIC experience. They were very helpful and explained the history and stories behind the Venetian masks. It was money well spent. Approximately 5 min walk from the Rialto Bridge shops, you won’t be disappointed at this hidden gem. As Americans, we didn’t know what to expect, but Igor and Julia had great English and were a delight to work with. You choose from a wide selection of authentic paper-maché templates and decorate it at your whim. They helped us every step of the way. We laughed and chatted the entire time while we EACH made our own mask; even the people looking through the windows were jealous at us. And don’t worry, if you were to make a mistake on your mask, they’re super creative to cover up any blemishes. Take a step off the beaten path and you won’t regret it. We’ll definitely be back with friends from the states! PS: Call in advance as you figure about 2 hrs for 2 masks, and no previous arts-and-crafts experience needed! Thanks Igor & Julia!

Very welcoming owner with good English. His workshop was full of wonderful authentic hand made Venetian masks and he gave us a good overview of the different styles and their uses. We purchased 2 half masks at a very good price. He accepted card payments at no extra cost.
