Hotel / Restaurant Connoisseur

Excellent. Food is really good and well presented. Nice interior, good atmosphere as befits its long history. Not a noisy restaurant. Service is perfect, attentive but not intrusive. Good location.

Wonderful people! Tasty food! My husband and I came here for Sunday roast with our infant daughter. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxed. Our daughter napped on the bench seat next to me for 30 minutes while we ate. When she woke up, they prepared a changing area for us in an upstairs room. They were very accommodating and friendly. Plus, the food was good.

A tad disappointed. Don't get me wrong the food was good but for the price paid, you would expect more from the taste of it. Also disappointed by the fries served : those were McDonald's style frozen ones (see picture). And for this type of restaurant this is simply not what you expect. All in all, 3 stars is - I think - a good depiction of my experience. Servers are nice however !

Delicious, interesting food and friendly service. Great place to come for a treat. I particularly appreciated the children's menu - real food and not a chicken nugget in sight!

This is a great little place pre-covid. Its a long lasting restaurant which says a lot. The quality of the food is really good, and they match the costs to the quality of ingredients. the atmosphere is warm and delightful, we keep on coming back here because they are so good and its quite hard to beat the Varsity Restaurant
