My girlfriend and I went here recently for my birthday on a Saturday. We made a reservation days in advance and showed up on time, but we were sat at the world's smallest table crammed in an awkward corner with heavy foot traffic. The table was so small we had to place our belongings (phone, masks, everything all in a purse) on the restaurant floor. Our waiter took 20 minutes to greet us and wasn't even apologetic. Once he finally did, we ordered a bottle of wine that tasted horrendous. The wine glasses weren't properly cleaned and rinsed so the wine tasted like chemicals. We ordered two appetizers, the stuffed crab avocado and the duck confit egg rolls. The crab avocado was decent, but the egg rolls were absolutely awful. They were bitter, earthy, and just not what we were expecting at all. Our main meals were disappointing, as well. My girlfriend's beef tips and tortellini dish had beef tips that were so chewy they were almost inedible. My lamb shank came out with the lamb slightly warm, but the mashed potatoes and asparagus freezing cold underneath. You'd expect a lot better quality for a 35 dish. Overall, a very disappointing experience here and will not be coming back.

5 stars arent nearly enough. We loved the atmosphere, as it was very warm and welcoming. Mason our server did a great job keeping things perfect at the table. All other staff on the floor were very friendly and helpful. The food quality was way beyond expected for the price in comparison to other high end establishments. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. The plating arrangements were very pleasing to the eyes. This will be our new place of choice for at least twice a month. We drove over an hour each way and it was worth every mile. Dont take our word for it. Experience it for yourself. Only the best for my girl on valentine's day.
Had a 7pm reservation on Valentines Day. We arrived a little before 7pm and was seated within 5 minutes. This was our first time there, so we had read over reviews and menu items prior to going. All the food was great, from appetizer, entree, sides, and dessert. The atmosphere was also relaxed and comfortable. They had live music playing but was not overpowering. The server was also great despite how busy they were. The host/manager also took the time to come by twice to make sure everything was to our liking. This is 100% how I like to be treated when going out and serviced. We will definitely go back, and we definitely recommend to everyone and anyone looking for a new spot. We were looking for a great, romantic place to eat for Valentine’s Day. We traveled over an hour and went back and forth for days on where to go. Varanese exceeded our expectations. The wait staff was amazing, steaks cooked to perfection (and we both work in restaurants), and the live music was terrific. Not too loud that we couldn’t hear each other. Super great experience and will be back to try other menu items in the future!
Atmosphere alone makes this place completely worth it. Took my girlfriend here for her birthday, neither of us having been here before. Could not have been better. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Highly recommend.
