This is place for the weavers only and its very good that the weaver are getting direct platform for their products, so they are getting chance to interact with the direct buyer. There is no other platform in Varanasi where customer can deal with the direct weavers and also the VWAS team is very helpful to mediate for the final dealing.

This place is located little far from the main city area. Has beautiful tourist places near by this place. Have visited this shop for buying sarees but they do not have any price tag system like Ganshyam Silks in Varanasi near Gurudwara Temple. This shop has a good collection but they say the prices without checking the price list, as per their wish. If we select any specific item & show interest then they say very high price. Most of the times they do not have much customers. Sales execs are very rigid & argue unnecessarily saying negative about other sarees shops. They say that only there stuff is genuine. Have to bargain a lot. They do not have good rest rooms, no car parking or 2 wheeler parking dedicated space. Have to park at owners risk outside on the cross roads. They accept credit & debit card payments. They arrogantly argue saying that they all are society workers on salary basis & they do not have much authority. Overall they are not cooperative & they are really expensive when compared to other sellers. They say that they have dedicated handloom workers in the top floors of the same building & so there rates are very high.

If you are looking for authentic handwoven banarasi brocades this is your go to place !! The place is a weavers collective and prices are very reasonable. Inform them a few days prior to your visit about your requirements and they can arrange for weavers to meet you directly and get enough stock for you to choose from. While you are there ask for 'the kullhad chai' from the street corner !!
