The largest egg collection in Romania, the museum is an important place where you can learn about the tradition of egg painting in Bucovina.

Great place where I learned a lot. Never knew that egg art can be found on all continents and everywhere it's loaded with symbolism. The collection is impressive and it's enriched with beautiful eggs created by the owner of the museum. Also the fact that an audio guide is given to each person on an MP3 player with headphones is an unexpected and very efficient approach.

Lots of beautiful hand crafts. Interesting stories via audio guide for all the items displayed.

Vama Egg Museum in the village of Vama is one of the things that you can't miss in Bucovina. You will be surprised by the richness of the collection. You will find eggs of many sizes, of many birds, originating from dozens of different countries of the world, decorated with many different techniques and materials and produced in different years. This museum is a continuous spreading of colours and shapes on hundreds of eggs, whose history is explained by an audio guide avalaible in many languages, in which the voice who explaines is that of Letitia Orsivschi herself, the woman and artist behind this museum. You can also find an explanation about the two main different techniques with which they can paint the eggs, one of these being invented in Bucovina. You can make photos by paying 10 RON (about 2 euros). Finally, you can buy some painted eggs made by Letitia Orsivschi. Very reccomended visit for all kind of tourists, also children, couples, families, alone visitors.

I liked it very much at the museum of the painted egg because I had an experience that I will not forget. In the first part I learned things that I did not know about the technique of egg inoculation, but I had the opportunity to see different models of eggs inconvenient from different countries. Secondly, I have had a demonstration by which I have seen the steps of an egg and I had the honor of doing so.
