A new facade put in front of an old building. Not from the area so no comment on the work that goes on (or doesn't go on looking at other comments) here. As a cyclist doing the ViaRhona I rode past the front. Looks quite a nice modern building until you see what is behind. Looks very expensive what has been done to modernise it.

This place makes people cry. I don’t know what is happening behind their doors, but I am sure monkeys would do it better. I recommend avoiding it.
I have contacted the prefecture many times by email to apply for a long-stay visa and never received a response. I've called also but am told I can only contact them by email. I went to the office but was told I could not talk to anyone. It's not possible to ask questions about the visa application process or to find out about the status of an application. I understand we are now in Covid times but in the years before Covid, I never received any responses to my emails asking visa questions. It seems there is no way to get help from this office whose mission is to help the public.
I’ve waited my residence card to be made for 4 month. Nobody informed me that the card was made until I asked my professor. Waiting for them to mail the card for me for almost 2 weeks, no where to ask. And when I called them, they hanged up the phone in 3 seconds and said you should not call here???? Endless waiting, my friend got the card in Grenoble for 3 weeks and I’ve been waiting for 6 months. This is the worst service that I’ve ever received.
OK experience. None of the staff speaks English. And currently in Covid times, there is a delay of atleast 2 months in the processing of applications.

Bonjour Alors moi c'était pour un DCEM, la personne à l'accueil vraiment désagréable elle me parlais comme si je venais parce que j'ai envie de venir, il y a 3 personnes qui tournent à l'accueil il y a une avec cheveux blanc coupe garçon elle va vous aider, mais l'autre rien ont dirais c'est la préfecture à sa famille ignoble vraiment, quand ont travail dans le social faut avoir les épaules sinon changer de travail.. je pense que quand ont travail trop dans le social ceux qui ont pas les epaules abandonnent et nous parle à nous comme des chiens .... voilà pour ma part
