No quick service, they play Malayalam serials at high volumes making it difficult to even listen to each other talks. The items are over priced and they take a lot of time to even serve a plate of paratha, looks like they have only 2 people to take care of the entire operations. I had to walk down to kitchen , call the person to take order as well as to complete the billing as I was getting late. Ambience could have been better.

Kerala food can be an acquired taste- you will either love it or wouldn't try again. Here they tried to adapt it to suit the Telangana palate - so the food is a little spicy. Loved the fish fry. I used to love this restaurant but looks like it is permanently closed now.
Utupura Kerala Dining is one of the few Kerala restaurants in Hyderabad. Kerala food items are served here with almost home made taste . Kerala porotta , appam, etc are available..also they have a good menu . Meat is served . (Chicken , duck , beef etc ) Before going to the hotel , just call em and make sure the food you want is available. The manager knows malayalam Apart from keralites , Tamilians also come here.. The place is not beside the main road so its a calm place . No. Buffet . Ennioy food...
Good place to eat the food from Kerala. Place ambience us good, staff is helpful, food us simple, not less or more spices. Washrooms are clean, side dishes can be a bit hot while serving. It would add to the taste.
So, this is how the cookie crumbles. After my lunch at Utupura Kerala Restaurant, I posted about how I liked the food there and I also got home a parcel for the family. Since they had already eaten, I kept the food for dinner. I had ordered a fish fry, Malabar chicken curry and some porottas. However, I was left aghast when I opened the parcel...the fish fry was charcoal....and when I tried to scrape the burnt layer off...I discovered a fully burnt cockroach...disgusting. I immediately searched for their number and called them...spoke with a Suresh and he was apologetic, offered me a discount and then a meal on the house...I told him he needs to find out how that happened and steps he will take to rectify the situation. Whatsapped him the pics...but NO response from them until now. I don't think they are going to do anything. Someone SAW the fish and yet packed it, speaks volumes about their ethics. Obviously, the whole parcel went into the trash. My recommendation is that you share this info among everyone and avoid this restaurant. I don't care about the wasted money but this is just not acceptable. It is sad that I will never go back to a restaurant that I was very enthusiastic about until yesterday afternoon.
