I went to the shop after I spilled my drink partially over my laptop with the hope they would be able to help me. I asked them if it was possible to open up my laptop and dry it. They told me the only thing I could is to hand in my laptop and they would clean it for 100 euros and likely replace the touchpad for around 250 euros. While I do understand that their response was one option, I also think it is bad customer service for the a couple of reasons. 1) the person did not know anything about my laptop. He didn't ask what model/year etc. the concerning laptop is. How would he know how hard it is to open it or clean it. All he said is that opening it will take a "long time", which for some laptops is not true. 2) after further research on my own I found that there are other methods to get my laptop running again without opening it up. the person didn't suggest to try any of this. additionally, he didn't know how severe the incident was, but nevertheless told me my only option is to get them to clean it for 100 euros. I ended up walking out of the store and as it turns out my computer was working fine again within a couple of hours. I understand that cleaning it is probably the safest option here. However, as it turns out there would have been other things the technician could have advised (for instance, to try and wait). This leads me to the conclusion that MyCom is more interested in making money than actually helping their customers.

Was very wary of visiting after reading the other reviews, but had a lovely experience at MyCom. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, also providing complimentary coffee. Fixed the problem with no trouble. It seems that standards have improved massively since the other reviews were written.
Very friendly staff! I asked about an item they didn't have in store and he got back to me the next day saying he brought it in just for me! Went to see it, but he wasn't prepared to showcase it working. He hooked it up on the spot and found out the PC he hooked it up to didn't have any games on it to test it out, and they couldn't be installed on the spot. Very friendly gesture, but ended up being a wasted trip.
They have a nice selection of hardware and the stuff knows about what they are selling, I gave it 3 stars because they are EXPENSIVE. if you checked their website and other hardware stores or amazon for the same thing that you're looking for, you will find mycom selling it for 20%40% more. for example I was aiming to buy TP-link TL-WA860RE range extender, as for the time I'm writing this review now, mycom is selling it for 32 euros. searching for it in mediamarket resulted 28 euros, and amazon.de is for 22.5 euros. I like the store, but I won't buy anything except if I'm forced to do (as with the raspberrypi board, which I can't find else where in utrecht). advice to mycom: fix your prices and get more customers.
I'd been having a problem with my Wi-fi network for months, and neither my ISP nor any other helpdesk would help me solve it. After a couple of calls, the people at this store were able to isolate the problem and offered a solution that didn't cost me any money and didn't even require me to visit the store! Thanks folks!
Good selection of computer hardware. The knowledge of the staff about their products needs improvement.

Mijn Windows was erg traag, dus wilde ik graag Windows opnieuw laten installeren, liefst met behoud van accounts en apps. Na 12 dagen heb ik eindelijk mijn PC terug. Ik moest 110 betalen terwijl al mijn instellingen, accounts en apps weg waren. Ook was 1 harde schijf niet meer leesbaar. Op de factuur stond een post 'Onderzoek'. Ik vroeg wat ze onderzocht hadden. Het antwoord "Of hij traag was". Ik kom hier lever niet meer.
