A wonderful dining experience. The service was very good, friendly and competent. The atmosphere was very nice overlooking the water. And most importantly the food was excellent, creative and well executed. Both the vegetarian and fish menus were full of flavor and beautifully presented. The only negative was the portion size. Even for a fine dining restaurant the portions were on the small size. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Fico is a really nice place to have a bit more than just good food. The service, atmosphere and quality of the food/wine is in great balance. We had the full 6 course menu, including wines, which definitely recommended as they compliment the courses perfectly.
Fico has a nice relaxed atmosphere with an upscale kitchen. A series of small dishes is served with good variety. Sometimes the balance on the plate is a bit off. Will surely come back to check another menu. Highlights were excellent wines and a superb dessert.
Delicious food, all dishes looked like a work of art and the different tastes were a feast to the senses. We were a group of 4 having 2 more friends joining us at the table from course 3 for drinks. We took the 5 course menu and exchanged a few dishes by Chef's Specials. At the start our waiter seemed less amused by the situation, but he warmed up to us.
First impressions: The menu was too complicated and convoluted. We had to have the waitress explain it three times. Some of the dishes and sauces were very nice, but really small portions. I understand fine dining, and food as art but this restaurant seemed to be trying too hard. Some of the flavors missed. I had the same feeling when I was at the MET in NYC looking at a white square on white canvas. If you don't understand it, YOU are the layman. Sitting on the water was lovely, but as soon as the sun goes down you are basically 'dining in the dark'. A major part of dining is being able to use all of your senses and Fico's strength is defenitely in their presentation. Some of the younger servers seemed to have little patience for the customer. I don't know if this is a specific Dutch trait or the heat index that day. We were all sweating bullets with no AC anywhere. I will not return.
Friendly staff. Food overwhelming. Wonderful ambiance. Great place to take special people. Been there twice and will definitely go back.

Great fine dining for a nice price! Nice atmosphere, in a cool building. With friendly staff that explains every dish well.
