Honestly don't see all the hustle about the tower itself. It's not much special. The surroundings are beautifully old-fashioned, though. And there are many nice shops surrounding it.

There are 5 levels in this tower. It can be accessed only with a guided tour. Nothing is allowed to be carried inside the Dom except a waterbottle, phone and camera. But the good thing is there are free-lockers available at the Utrecht Tourism office located very closeby. Also currently (as of Aug 2020), restoration of the tower is going on and it would take atleast another 4 years for it to be completed.

We booked the guided tour up on the dome. It was quite exhausting (although we made like five stops) but we were rewarded with an excellent view over Utrecht on a beautiful summer day!

They place was really nice but unfortunately the Dom Tower were fully covered so we weren't able to see it nor visit it. But we visited the church and offered prayer.

Amazing views across the city and to Amsterdam in the distance. I took the last tour of the night up via lift and the views were excellent, with the sunset adding to them. Also as it was a really sticky hot day and evening the cool breeze this far up was a great bonus

Took the tour and went up 380 stairs stopping in different rooms on the way. Because the tower is closed all the way on the top, they compensate by showing you the bells. The tour tells you a lot of the history and story of the tower and town. I really enjoyed it.
