This is the oldest textile market in the Netherlands, dating back to the 1500’s. It’s also the largest in the Netherlands. I’m not an expert seamstress or connoisseur of fabrics, but I can definitively state that the selection of textiles seems to be substantial here. Furthermore, it’s fun to just walk around and enjoy the myriad of colors.

Top. This place is not compatible with my wallet it is so fantastic.
One of my favourite places in the city. So many fabrics to choose from for great prices. Very friendly people!
Breedstraat Lapjesmarkt is one of the largest open air fabric markets in the world. One will find all types of fabric, notions, and supplies for creating projects at home. No trip is complete without stopping by the stall selling leather pieces and those selling notions (thread, buttons, zipper, and accessories needed to finish off your project). Well worth a visit for anyone visiting the city of Utrecht, NL.
