A experience all the way around. Everything about the experience of purchasing a typewriter from Unplug Typewriter Co. was fantastic. I made a special request for a particular typewriter with an unusual typeface, and they found that for me. They had a *long* conversation with me about whether I wanted to have it custom painted and what color I wanted. And the custom paint that I chose turned out *fantastic*. The typewriter was packaged up with care. It works perfectly right out of the box. They also included an original manual, which was a really nice touch. And all of this came at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend.

I am writing my first book and really wanted to write it on a typewriter. I had been looking at typewriter, from various companies online, for quite some time, but then I saw one on the IG page of Unplug Typewriter Co. and just had to inquire on it. I had many thoughts...”It probably sold already...” or “If it is still available, it.s probably way out of my budget”. But neither were true and Meagan, the owner, helped me ease my worries and explained everything in detail to me. She was and still is, very responsive and willing to answer any questions. My typewriter was delivered yesterday and I have to say, it not only arrived quickly, but it arrived in excellent condition and securely packaged. I am using it today for the first time and will be posting about it on my blog. Thank you Meagan! I will never forget this incredible experience!
I want to take a moment to thank and recommend Unplug Typewriter Co and it’s owner Meagan for her exemplary customer service. I have purchased typewriters from 3-4 shops and they were great but if I had any problems with them, I was on my own. Some other shops charge an arm and a leg for cleaning or refurbishing but Meagan’s company has very reasonable prices and she stands behind her machines. We had a couple of issues and she troubleshooted with me until i was able to fix it and even then she offered a partial refund. As you know, these machines are getting more scarce and repair technicians are hard to come by. It is comforting to know that we have people in our small collector community that value these machines more than making a quick buck.
My custom typewriter from Unplug is beyond what I could have imagined. Meagan was so easy to work with and so patient while I went back and forth over color. She went above and beyond helping me identify the type of machine my mom used in the 70s before I chose one to be restored (after she presented multiple of great options) and is just such a lovely human to buy from. The cost was beyond reasonable and fit well within my budget. My custom typewriter arrived so well packaged, perfectly restored, and a dream to type on. And the pearlized color finish makes me so happy every time I pass it in my home! My elementary kiddo loves it too and frequently races to use before I can get to it to type stories or spelling words or whatever he thinks of. I spend hours a day on a computer, so I was drawn to a typewriter for an offline--unplugged!--experience that forces me to slow down, and this is the exact calmness I get from my new typewriter. When I get in the market for a script machine, I will be a repeat customer!
