Definitely not one of our better visits. While service was great the tortilla chips and taco shells had a very odd almost doughy after taste. My daughter and I were starving but we just couldn't get over it. Hopefully our next visit will be better.

After a long morning of traveling my boyfriend brought me here. It was very beautiful inside and out. I enjoyed the food especially the perfectly cooked steak (it was very tender, I couldnt believe it) and their drinks were so good. Aside from that all of the staff that we came in contact with were friendly and practicing safety by wearing a mask. Another thing I liked about this restaurant was the strong teamwork. I seen everyone helping each other to maintain cleaning as well as providing the best service for its customers.
I am usually a big fan of Uncle Julio’s, but I was very disappointed tonight. First, our waitress walked past our table a few times before ever acknowledging our presence. On her last pass by, she finally told us that she’d be with us in a minute, probably because my husband and I both turned and stared at her walking by. We weren’t even sure that she was our waitress, but she was the only one in the vicinity. When she came back, we went ahead and ordered water and our entrees. Sad to say, the water wasn’t even good. It had a dirty taste, so I ran to our car and retrieved 2 bottles of water. Our entrees didn’t take too long, but they were disappointing too. My husband’s steak fajita bowl was basically a bowl of lettuce and grape tomatoes with a few pieces of bland steak on top. My “jumbo” bacon wrapped shrimp left a charred taste in my mouth due to the wrapped bacon being burned on the bottom. The icing on the cake was that when we asked for our check, our waitress looked at our empty bottles of water, and said, “Does our water taste funny?” I said “yes”. She replied, “Yeah, we were told that earlier this week.” It’s pretty bad when you can’t even get a decent glass of water...
Unfortunately the food was not as good as the last time I visited. My beef enchilada was greasy, the chicken enchilada was delicious. The pinto bean soup was to spicy so we ordered black beans and they came in a soup as well. The black beans soup/sauce was greasy and too spicy as well, the sauce looked like the same sauce in the pinto beans/soup.
When I’m feeling like Mexican good Uncle Julio’s is one of my top local choices. Today I enjoyed the chicken nachos, no sour cream, extra guacamole. The food was consistent with previous visits and delicious as always. My girlfriend has the Chicken Enchiladas without garnish and the hatch chili sauce on the side. For drinks it was just waters today but if you like a great margarita, they have the best top shelf margarita. Enjoy!
